THESMORPHIA — Gathering & Giving

Thesmorphia — An Ancient Greek word that means gathering and picking.  It relates to the gathering during a fall harvest-festival, and it translates to the carrying of things laid down.

Since we are in the month of November and it is a harvest season, let us break down the word harvest.  Harvest- the process of gathering crops or - picking and collecting plants and crops.

The Kefi L!fe Team would like to in timely fashion, align the concept of “PICKING” with your wellness.

We here at Kefi L!fe Headquarters pick positive over negative.

POSITIVE ATTITUDE

PICK A POSITIVE ATTITUDE FOR A BETTER LIFE.

“Attitude is more important than the facts.  It is more important than the past, than education, money, successes or failures, fame or pain, what other people think of me or say about me, my circumstances or my position.  Attitude keeps me going or cripples my progress.  It alone fuels my fire or assaults my hope.  When my attitude is right, there’s no barrier too high, no valley too deep, no dream too extreme, no challenge too great for me.”     -Charles Swindoll

When you pick a positive attitude, you are deciding how to feel, behave and conduct yourself on a daily basis.  Your positive attitude will carry you to special places.

Furthermore, Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.

My mother, God rest her beautiful soul, used to say, “Look for the true the good and the beautiful.”

TIPS TO HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE:

  1. Be grateful.  Look for the good things in life to celebrate instead of focusing on every little thing going wrong.

  2. Live healthy.  When we pick healthy foods, healthy habits and healthy behaviors, it all impacts a healthy attitude and positive state of mind.

  3. Use positive words.  Avoid the words; can’t, don’t & won’t.

  4. Create a positive routine that lifts your spirits first thing in the morning. This routine will give you momentum to carry on with positive actions, which make you feel good.

  5. Challenge negative thoughts.  HOW?  Use the remove replace rule of thumb.  A bad or negative thought enters your mind, immediately replace it with a good one.

  6. Workout.  Movement is medicine and it will create endorphins.  Every day use your body to walk, jump, skip or move in a way that you find joyful.

  7. Understand instead of being understood.  When we take a minute to understand the other person’s perspective it may shine light on our perspective.
